More than a quiet room, the Take This AFK Room is a calming space for people who need it, staffed with volunteers and clinicians who can answer questions and offer support for people who are stressed out. Some visitors simply need a break from the excitement and stimulation of a large event. Others seek conversation about mental health related issues. Still others check in to support us and our mission. We are happy to meet you all.
Since Spring 2014, Take This has hosted AFK Rooms at every North American PAX event, with hundreds of visitors per day. Starting in 2015, the AFK Room has been available at every PAX worldwide, and we’ve brought it to many other events as well.

Shipping on track for November

Hello friends!
It’s been a bit since our last update, and we know you’re eager for your rewards. We’re still on track for shipping after PAX Unplugged, which means shipping should start the week of November 27th as long as we receive all the items.
We’re looking forward to getting everything to you as soon as we can. And don’t worry - we’ll update you again prior to shipping in case you’ve moved or need to make address changes.
Thanks again for your patience, friends. While the rewards are taking a bit longer than we’d like, your support has allowed us to help people at several shows already this year. We couldn’t do it without you!

Shipping Update & Delays

Hello friends!
Our original scheduled shipping time has arrived, and we’re back with an update. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we haven’t received all the campaign items. Don’t worry, they’re all still coming; they just aren’t here quite yet. Since we can only ship once we have everything, we won’t be able to start shipping rewards this week. We looked at every possibility for getting everything on time, but even our most heroic efforts won’t be enough. Shipping has to be delayed until after PAX Unplugged (Nov 17th-19th).
We are a small organization and it just isn’t feasible to ship the inventory we have, or ship partial rewards. We’re so sorry for any disappointment this causes. We’re disappointed too.
We’ll update you again prior to shipping just in case you need to make any changes to your address on file.
You’re the best supporters we could ask for - we really appreciate your patience. We’re so excited to get your rewards to you, even if it’s going to take a little longer.

Just a quick note today, as most of team Take This is off to PAX West to help make sure attendees have a safe show and a great time. When we get back, we’ll be starting to prep your perks for shipping, so please finalize your shipping address by September 5th.
You can head on over to BackerKit to confirm that you’ve finalized your address. If you’ve lost your backer survey, you can visit takethisorg.backerkit.com to retrieve it.

For those of you we’ll be seeing at PAX: We’re so excited to see you! Stop by our merchandise booth in the Diversity Hub and Lounge to say hi, remember that the AFK Room is at the show for you too if you need it, and definitely check out our panels.
We’ve had a few questions about whether or not we’ll be able to fulfill pledge perks at the show, and unfortunately, that’s not something we’re able to do. We already ask a lot of our wonderful booth volunteers, and the logistics of tracking perk fulfillment is too much to add to that load. That said, we’ll be getting your perks to you as soon as possible after the show, so you won’t have much longer to wait.

Finalize Your Shipping Address

We're halfway through August, and that means two very exciting things: PAX West is just around the corner, and we start shipping rewards very soon!
Neither of those would be possible without your generous support, so take a moment to (literally or proverbially) pat yourself on the back.

Next, if you haven't already done so, please pop on over to BackerKit to finalize your shipping address.
Preparations for PAX West will be taking up our attention for the next couple weeks as we get everything ready for the AFK Room, our oasis of calm at that busy show. When we get back, our attention will be on getting your rewards bundled and ready to go.
That means shipping addresses must be finalized by September 5th.
Our current plan is to start shipping the week of September 18th. We'll let you know for sure a bit closer to that date.
